3/4 cup self raising flour
250ml condensed milk
1 egg
75g softened butter
1 tbs vanilla essence

Preheat oven to 180. Line a muffin tray with patty cases. To a bowl, add butter, egg & condensed milk & beat using an electric mixer. Add the flour & vanilla essence & combine. Place tbs of mixture in patty cases & bake for about 15 mins

I made some banana and pecan cupcakes for an afternoon tea I had with my work buddies.



We celebrated my daughter Vanessa’s Confirmation not long ago. It was a lovely day & she looked all grown up. Many thanks to all who shared with her on her special day & her sponsor for being there for with her. Coincidentally keeping with the blog theme I made these personalised green and orange coloured cupcakes.

Craft Show

I went to the Craft and Quilt fair in June at Darling Harbour – if you ever need a good dose of creative inspiration or ideas this is the place to go – held every year in June. One thing I bought was chipboard letters for Maxim’s room. It reminded me of our project, the Alphabet Project, lol.


I made a cake for my sister-in-law’s birthday. Simple chocolate cake with forty pink roses.


Is a process of creating fabric from yarn, thread, or other material strands using a crochet hook. The word is derived from the French word “crochet”, meaning hook. Some would consider this an old fashioned pastime, sure it dates back but with wonderful coloured yarns available these days you can make gorgeous and modern items. I made this piggy for Maxim’s room and this little beanie to keep him warm on our recent trip.

Is a chilled dish of fresh or dried fruit that has been slowly cooked in a sugar syrup (which may contain liquor or liqueur and sometimes spices). Slow cooking is important for the fruit to retain its shape.

This is a general term referring to a thick puree or sauce, such as a tomato coulis.  It can also refer to thick, pureed shellfish soups. And originally, the term coulis was used to describe the juices from cooked meat.

Popular to serve over ice-cream – berry coulis. Slowly cook the berries in sugar syrup, once cooked, blitz it in a food processor and then pass through a sieve to create a smooth berry sauce.


I made these lemon zest cookies which we enjoyed one afternoon.
